*mummy_hen*
Hi All, Am having a bit of a problem with my two male ducks incesently trying to mate with the female (we did have two but one sadly died a few months ago which i think may have stemmed from this problem), ended up having to separate them at night and for most of the day leaving the poor girl on her own. Yesterday we bought 3 more females to go with them and they are slowly intermingling but think this may be a long process, however the males are making attempts at the new females who are promtly showing him off. However, heard somewhere that you can buy a spray that you spray onto the females feathers which prevents the female smells from being attractive to the males which could be a great solution, however have no more infromation about it. So basically my question is, has anyone heard of this, if so what is it called, where would i be likely to get it from, does it work and most importantly is it safe? Many Thanks in advance. Duckmomma
Is it ukadex that tastes bad and stops pecking? Maybe you could spray the females with that around the head neck area (isn't that where a drake grips a duck when mating?) That might put them off.
