4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi All

 

One of our 2 week old chicks has developed a black end to one of it's toes, approximatley 2mm long with a pink bit 3mm behind it.

 

Has anyone got any idea what it might be? Not sure if it's been pecked, or caught in something. I don't want the toe to fall off!

About the toe, could it be the colours growing on the chick? As long as it's not swollen or looks infected I would have thought should be ok. As long as she's walking on it as normal as well. Keep an eye on her.

 

Someone else may be along in a mo who may have experienced this before.

Hi

 

Looks blackish like a deep blood red colour, and the claw is a bit off centre. Might have got caught in something.....

 

I should have the Mini-Chicken cam up and running tomorrow.....

 

If the chick stays still for long enough I try and get a picture of the toe up.
