Bits in eggs

I'm sure i've read something about this before but I can't find it now.

 

Most of our eggs have little red bits in them. Does anyone know what these are? I find them a bit off-putting but usually just pick them out. The other day though, Bella layed one with little grey bits in. :? It really didn't look pleasant. We do occasionally give our eggs to friends but I don't want them to worry about what the bits are.

 

Any ideas?
