One more sleep!! - UPDATED, THEY'RE HERE!

Recommended Posts

Well, the girls have settled in really well and are getting much friendlier. They are spending an awful lot of time inside the Eglu though, is that normal? They don't seem to come out much unless we're around, and then they come and 'chat' to us. I've bought some broccoli and grapes for them today which we'll give to them later - yummy!

I have now got photos on the computer............but how to get them on here is another matter!! Will try my best. :?

Ours spend way more time out of the eglu lately than they did when they first arrived. First couple of days most of them were inside most of the time and then later on it was noticeably Millie doing it most. Now they're freeranging (yesterday and today), they hardly go in at all. However, have just shut them in the run as we have friends coming over the daughter of which is scared of everything, and the mother of which wouldn't stroke the hen I was holding the other day so I kind of thought it would be nice to them to not have the chooks running around terrifying them! Anyway, they're not going in the eglu much since I shut them in the run - I guess that in the early days they felt safer in there while they were getting used to their new surroundings.

Make the most of it and take the opportunity to handle them a lot - it's really easy if you're just lifting them out of the nesting box rather than trying to get them from the end of the run!
