4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I understand that although Brahmas are big girls their eggs are no bigger than those of an 'ordinary' hen.

 

However two questions spring to mind :-

 

a) do they eat very much more than the average hen and,

 

b) do they produce ginormous amounts of poo?

 

Any comments from experienced Brahma keepers would be appreciated.

The eggs are actually smaller than the gingernuts and pepperpots, mine usually lay around 49 - 52g.

 

Poo's - I haven't noticed any larger than the others.

 

Food - Hard to tell really, I think they are about the same as the others.

 

My Brahma's are wonderful, I have a lovely friendly, docile one, and at the other end of the scale a bolshy madam.

 

All four have had a good go at being broody for England though this year, but I wouldn't swap them.
