Tesco doing Hovis brown / white / granery for 33p

their own brand was 47p

Thats a great bargain. I am always on the hunt for a bargain. Do you think I could sneak into Tescos under cover of night and buy some if I promise not to buy anything else

 

Tescos are big baddies but I am happy to take from them something that they are probably making a loss on.

These days a bargain is a bargain, unfortunately times are hard for some of us and considering the Hovis flour went up to 89p - we have at least a 50p saving.

 

Yes am thinking that I will also bump up that loss - if they are silly enough to charge 33p I am very much going to empty their shelves.

times are hard for us too. My hubbie was made redundant yesterday and I am on long term sick leave from work. When you put it like that Lynda, I'd be glad to get some!

 

Maybe I will sneak in with Missuscluck, have you got a black balaclava Lynda?

 

Does the offer apply to ALL Tesco stores?

just used Tesco's on line price checker and it says 85p

 

**edit** I've re-regustered on line and it says it's £1.18

I've just rung my local Tesco and it's £1.18, must just be your local store that has the offer on, lucky you!

oh strewth thats even more than us - and they say its more expensive in the South ?

 

It makes you wonder though same store different prices all round the UK

I know I pay more in Kent than my Parents do in Dudley (west mids)

 

North South divide Im shocked £1.18 ours went up to 89p and we refused to pay that.

 

- we were going to another branch to clear their shelves

must check it out first.

 

Maybe we should start our own price check and ask these companies the reasoning behind the price diffs - other names ok but the same shop

the last time i bought some it was about 80 odd pence for 1kg, i think it used to be about 60p when i first bought it. I usually buy 3 bags at a time so it was only a cple of months or so when i last bought it. I can't believe how much it's gone up.

 

there is some hovis bread mix flour, 495g for 37p, it's not that one you mean is it?

 

I never use ready made bread mixes.

Yes thats the one - I cheat and get the ready made up bags.

I dont get home until late evening during the week so its quicker just to chuck it all in and switch on..
