4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. One of our girls (Dora) is acting rather strange, she keeps sitting on the nest(no eggs) and when we do persuade her to come out all she does is drink LOTS!!! We threw some chopped up grapes in (their favourite) , the other 2 girls wolfed down the lot, she didnt bother having any. She looks healthy enough although her comb is a bit floppier than normal, she is an ex-bat so it has never been totally upright anyway.Any ideas????

Sitting on the nest box during the day and not laying is often a sign of a broody chook.The drinking is likely due to her not eating or drinking for some time.

 

One of mine was broody last week,but 3 days in a puppy crate soon stopped it.

Thats what I thought, So I just went out to check on her and she had a poo - clear liquid with a bit of green matter in it, very strange. I checked her crop but it is so soft , I think it feels as though it just has water in it. Haven't seen her eat today.

Pop a football in the nestbox to prevent her from sitting in it or shut the Eglu door until dusk.Her crop could be soft as its empty,but it shouldnt take her long to fill it up.Their poo's do tend to be quite different from one to another and mine do green watery ones too so dont worry too much!
