not much makes me say that. But really, today, the chickens suprised me (again) with their eating habits.

Cat had left half a mouse on the patio (pretty euwwwhh to start with) - i spotted this on my way back from letting chooks out, but had hands full of baby, so meant to come back later & deal with - and forgot. next thing i saw was Sapphire running across the lawn with mouse in her beak, by the tail, and other 2 girls chasing her, apparently all wanting a peck... not sure what happened next, but no further sign of mouse, so i assume it was consumed!

And there was me thinking they were mostly vegetarian...

what will they do next?

Frogs

 

Tear them limb from limb then run round the garden with them hanging out of their mouths. Lovely.

 

Mind you, a mouse is one I've yet to see.

Yup, I usually check for dead mice - it's a favourite treat!

 

Just give the eggs away to someone for the next couple of days ...
