Bok bokking at night?

Recommended Posts

Do anyone elses chickens bok bok at night? Mine always have done on and off but, just lately, it's been every night. They start about 11pm and do it for a bit and then I'm often woken at around 2-3am again.

It's just one chicken I think (not sure which one though) and it's a gentle bok bok bok bok noise. I hear it because the run is right under our open window and I sleep particularly lightly, but I don't think it is loud enough to wake the neighbours (at least I hope not!)

They are all locked in the cube and I've been out a few times and checked nothing on 4 legs or 2 legs is around bothering them - the only creatures around are the hedgehogs and a few frogs.

Do I have sleep talking hen(s)? :D

I can see from your signature you've had your girls a while. Are your newer ex-batts in with your older girls - do you think it could be one of them? Or are they separate?

Mine don't make any noise at night at all. I only ever had them doing a 4am alarm call last Summer when I used to leave the door open all night and they would get up early and start up. Needless to say I shut the door at night now and it stopped but I can see you shut the door too, so it's not that.

Have to say I'm perplexed :?:
