jomaxsmith Posted August 17, 2008 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I have a suspicion my has laid 3 eggs today. My three hens all lay distinctly different coloured eggs. Yesterday only laid. Today when I checked them this morning there was a pale egg in the run, it was the colour of 's eggs but slightly smaller and was discoloured on one side from sitting in the damp run. Later on there was a normal sized egg and another egg of the same colour broken (soft shelled) in the nest box. Big Zee does occasionally lays softies and I permanently use Limestone Flour against this. Neither of the other two hens have laid yet today and normally they would lay first thing. It really is a mystery - either Big Zee has laid 3 today or the other hens' eggs have changed colour! I'll update later if there are any more eggs! Jo Update: Daisy laid an egg this afternoon so perhaps Lily laid an egg the wrong colour (she is usually first to lay so it could have been her's in the run) but that still means poor Zee laid 2.
