SusannenoZ Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 I got new chickens a couple of weeks ago after losing our lovely Twinkle, used the divide the run, seperate sleep quarters, gradual introduction, free range together.. system as Geri was a bully. Well I ordered a converter to enlarge the run as they all have to go to my friend next week as we are away for 2 weeks and she can't let them free range. I intended doing the big introduction to sleeping in the eglu together this weekend. But set up the converter and when it went dusk tonight, Rita went straight in the eglu, (having never been in there before, followed by Geraldine who seemed quite happy she was in there and they have settled down for the night, however she wouldn't let Blanche in and she settled in the adapted rabbit hutch as she has done for the past 2 weeks. the strange thing is in the day Rita is definately the very bottom of the pecking order,I am just so surprised that Geri has let her settle in the eglu??!! Blanche on the other hand has started to lay, 3 days ago and has laid her first 2 eggs in the eglu and Geri has let her???!!!??? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
