berylandbabs
Can anyone tell me at what age buff orpingtons start to lay? I have three girls - one that's a year old who is laying, a second who is approx 23 weeks old, and a third that is approx 20 weeks old. I'm wondering when I can expect my first eggs from them. Any advice pls?
chelsea
some pure breeds take longer to mature. I dont have orps but have cochins another similar heavy breed and it was 6 months before they were POL. So your orpingtons might take a little longer than a hybrid to become layers. I love orpingtons though...very
new chick
My Buff Op is now 23 weeks old. No eggs yet but still love her. She has grown so much . Her comb still very small and pink, just signs of wattles, so not expecting eggs for some time yet. I also have 25 week Silver Laced Wyandotte, and 23 week Black Red Araucana . All eggless Supplying them with lot of love, so hoping to get pay back soon
