Nats
I'm sure I've read somewhere that I can use paper shreddings for the nest box but don't know where I read it so I'd like to check before I do it. Is this ok to do? Thanks
Eggstatic!
I use shredded paper in the nest box, the person who delivered my said that it was fine to do so.
josephine77
I use shredded paper too - think it's fine as long as the strands aren't too long otherwise they could get tangled round toes etc. J x
Hen Watch
I've just started using shredded paper for 3 days now. My naughty little chooks are still investigating it and taking the odd nibble but they should soon stop that. I'm trialling it at present. I'm a HUGE fan of Auboise (or Hemcore) bedding in the nestbox as it soaks up any soggyness and I've used it for 16 months. But have noticed 1 chook with a bald, red bum and from another post on this forum, it might be she is allergic to the Auboise. So I'm giving it a go. Mine is stredded finely and only about 1 " long so if they do eat it, it won't get stuck in their crops.
