Haltonshappyhens
I hate to ask such a silly question, but how can i get my chickens to eat from the 'grub' bowls that hang on the eglu?.. its driving me mad that they haven't worked out that is where their food is!!.. i have the same issue with the 'glug' but I have managed to overcome this with an additonal water bowl.. its not ideal but at least they are drinking .. their food however is just getting soggy in the rain... HELP please!!
Tina C
Are they too high/too low - I put the glug virtually on the ground as my girld prefer to drink from anywhere low - ie dirty puddles Put a little bit of food from the grub on the ground underneath it, that might help them find it. If they are young don't worry too much - they do seem to eat very little if they are not yet laying - especially if they have nice juicy grass to peck and scratch at. Tina C
The food should not really be getting soggy as its kind of covered - do you have a cover on the run?
Haltonshappyhens
its the additional food I am putting out for them in a bowl on the ground that is getting soggy!.. I have put their dust bath under the cover so there isn't much room for anything else.. thanks for the advice.. i will try the food around the outside tip and see if it helps them locate the rest of their grub.. thanks
