Mya laid her first egg today a lovely perfect brown egg with some speckles 46g. Just need to wait for velma to start going to cook it in the morning for the kids to share for breakfast. They were sooo excited (so was i!) Cam

Went to vets last night with Missy the dog. Routine booster check-up.

 

Asked if the vet has experience of chickens & hens.

 

She is also a “hen nut”. Has serval chickens and is bulding more coops .....

 

Told her about my 3 girls.

 

She says they may not have first egg until the spring.

 

'Arry is 25 week / Winnie and Buffie are 23 weeks.

 

She said as days have been wet, cold and dark they may "wait" until next year

Was glade to see the sun today. girls spend day on Grass. Hope they now think about eggs

Well another egg today well i thought they were mya's but confused this am as both inside the eglu after the school run peeped from the run door to see mya on the roost bars and velmas tail feathers in the nest box so who's eggs are they was velma just being nosy? any way whichever it is they are clever girls it is 48 g.
