dogmad
Hi, This morning I have noticed that we have grass/greenery growing in the run. Now the run is based on solid concrete with a 3 inch base of woodchips on top. I am presuming that the greenery is from spilt seeds which are sprouting. Am I correct in thinking that these are fine for the chickens to eat and will actually give them something to peck around for or should I be looking at giving the run a complete clear out? Thanks Debbie
Egluntyne
Depends what they are. There was an article in the Practical Poultry mag a while back about a lady who sprouts alfalfa etc and feeds it to her hens and she reckons they thrive on it. dogmad
They are just seeds from their food mix, so could be a mixture of sunflower and wheat.
