Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

sorry more questions, as some of you know i have moved my chickens of the slabs and onto wood chippings/bark and im alot happier now, and so are the chickens in the rain no more flooding

now i poo pick and and rake it and top it up etc, can i add some garden lime to it or do i have to remove all the chippings first?

does it or will it burn the chickens feet? if i add it to the bark and stir it around?

i went to b and q for it and they told me they wouldnt advise to use with the chickens, so ive come to ask you guys first

It won't burn the chicken's feet, so long as it is garden lime (calcium carbonate) and not builders lime.

 

I sprinkle it around regularly and have had no problems.
