Haltonshappyhens
Onion looks really odd at the moment I noticed it first yesterday, but this morning she was looking fairly normal again...when you look at her straight on, one side of her breast looks like she is hiding a tennis ball under her feathers.. I had a cuddle with her this evening and it feels like she is hiding a tennis ball there !!.. she is eating, drinking and pottering around as usual and even managed to escape the chicken run this afternoon by hopping onto the eglu and over the fence!.. anyone got any advice please?? Egluntyne
No advice needed....all perfectly normal. The crop will go down overnight as she digests her food, and it does lie to one side when fll.

Haltonshappyhens
Now I don't know whether I am imagining things.. it didn't seem that much smaller this morning.. she seemed happy and was eating and drinking.. I now think I am staring at it so much poor chicken is becoming paranoid.. could I have blocked her up with spaghetti.. she ate lots of it the other day.. I say lots.. not that much cos they only had about 10 strands between the 3 of them..!! Oh this is crazy, i feel as anxious as I did when we bought our 4 children home from the hospital the day they were born!!..

Haltonshappyhens
too right.. this evening after day 3 of introductions they all decided to share the one eglu as they trotted off to bed.. New girl in the nest box and the other two perching on their usual perches!!.. I won't sleep tonight for fear that they will eat her alive when they wake up and discover that in their sleepy haze last night they allowed her to join them!!....
