Eggstatic!
I got my newbies on Saturday and i was wondering if anyone else that has introduced new chickens has experienced an egg strike from the originals? I am worrying in case there is another reason.
gracefruit
Mine seem to stop laying at any sign of change or upset. Mine older chickens skipped a couple of days laying when the new girls arrived -- save one who dropped an egg in the run!
Eggstatic!
Thank you for the reply, just needed my mind putting at ease as they have now missed 2, 5 and 7 days of laying.
helenmb
Had my first 3 egg day the day my new 4 girls arrived (a couple of weeks ago) and guess what, that was the only 3 egg day I've had. None at all today and for the last 10 days only 1 a day from the 3 who were laying. So yes, I think there is definitely a correlation between introductions and a drop in egg production (sadly ). Savonista - bought some of your Comb and Wattle balm (and some soap) and love it all - thanks
