Guest
As you know, Mum and I are cruise addicts. I got a mailing today from Cunard - seems like it was only sent to people who have travelled solo with them before as Mum didn't get it. They are offering Transatlantic cruises for 2009 at only 25% single supplement - I know it may still seem like a lot to many but to any other single cruisers it IS a bargain - normally Cunard charges a 100% suppliment on these trips. Mum had been hankering after doing a crossing on her own but had been put off by the high suppliment - now she's booked on a Westbound crossing for next November and is very chuffed about it! Guest
seems it's a buyers market, what with the credit crunch etc, power to the consumer!
Scooby
Thanks for posting that Pengy - my husband and I have cruised twice with princess cruises to the Caribbean and loved it so I was a bit confused when I received some mail from Cunard yesterday offering a 'sale' on a med cruise and a New York cruise - I've never heard of them before! Are they a good cruise company?
Guest
How on earth have you heard of Princess and NOT Cunard?? Cunard (who are owned by Princess - they pretty much all are!) are the luxury line - QE2, QM2 and now the Victoria (although she is not a liner). I warn you though, they may spoil you for other lines! The Transatlantic crossing is a wonderful experience - Mum always said she never fancied it - she likes stopping and looking round places, then she did a double crossing with me and James and she was hooked! Oh she was also hooked on the Queen Mary 2 - so much better than QE2 was the last time we sailed on her. Having said all that my next 2 cruises are with other lines.... Guest
LOl but you were close, Princess own P&O! Mum was on a P&O ship earlier this year when Captain David Perkins took over - he's captained us twice on QE2!
