4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi

Our two girls have not laid an egg between them for about the past 3 weeks.

Their combs have gone very pale and they have both moulted but other than that they seem to be healthy and eating as normal.

Is this normal at this time of year?

Any suggestions on how to get back to real eggs because the shop bought ones are awful by comparison!

Once they feather up they should start laying again.

 

I'd keep them on good quality layers pellets with a bit of added protein such as dolphin friendly tuna (rinsed), chick crumbs, organic cat food (non poultry based) and they should feather up again nicely.

poultry spice added to their food will really help, it always works for me

It sounds like the seasonal slow down, normal for winter. Lack of light and low temperatures sorry. Resumes in spring
