Omlet cube and run

Today I have found 8 eggs behind a bush. One of my hens seems to want to lay outside, rather than in the nice cosy nest box.

Any ideas how to discourage this? Thought about not opening coop until later, but she's laying an hour after daylight and this seems a little harsh?.

Why not place a ceramic egg or a golf ball in the nest box to encourage her to lay there?

 

Can you block off her usual laying spot in some way too?

Could you try keeping them in their run until mid morning? That might solve it, although in my experience they do it to keep you on your toes and are definatley
