mictogirl
Was discussing with hubby the other night about the raised beds he's promised to build me in the new year and we weren't sure how high the fencing around them should be to keep the chickens off? I'm sure I've read 1.5-2m before but that looked hugely high when we got the tape measure out - is that right or have I totally made it up? Would rather not have super high netting but on the other hand also don't want the girls trashing my lovingly tended veg plot! I've yet to see any of mine jump more than a couple of feet but then there's not much in the garden for them to practise on as yet Thanks, Laura. Gamebird
I think it might depend on whether the girls think your veggie plot is much tastier than their side of the fence. It will also depend on the chickens themselves. Some are more flighty than others. The Omlet netting is just under 4ft high and a lot of people use that to fence of their garden with great success.
