lindi
Hi I just thought I'd post an update. A few weeks ago I posted a message asking for advice on my bald chickens - chest and backs. I got lots of advice and have tried most of it. Have given them tuna to increase protein (which they adore) and at weekends they have yoghurt and weatabix - again greeted with much enthusiasm. Also put them on a course of Flubenvet for worms. Egg production is up and we are getting 5 eggs from 6 chickens most days and they are eating more BUT we still have the bare backs and 2 have bald spots on their chests still. Feathers have looked like they were beginning to poke through on the backs but haven't developed into feathers yet. We think Milly is still managing to bully the others - had managed to do something to her bumper bit which meant her beak was free. As a last resort she has been isolated today and will be kept from the others for a few days. As a last resort I'm ordering some Ukadex. But once again thanks you very much to all who gave advice and it has made a difference even if no feathers are growing back yet.
