Willow, my black orpington, and Anya, a cream legbar (aka the Halloween girls) laid their first eggs today! Willow started crouching last week, but Anya hasn't made a move. Here are the girls:

 

 

and here are their eggs! for comparison, they're shown with Meg's (daisybelle); Dot (maran cuivre); Pip (amber) then Willow's at 60g and Anya's beautiful little bluey white egg at 40g

 

 

We are so happy!

 

It makes me a bit sad to think that Buffy might have laid her first egg today too, though

That's a big 1st egg from Willow , and what a cutie from Anya .

 

I know what you mean about Buffy , it could have been her day too. I'm sure she's watching from chicken heaven and pleased her old pals are doing so well.
