Guest
for what purpose?
quickcluck
For dry bald tummies and botties...... they are all the same. The vet thinks it may be a reaction to the lime we put in the run... So this weekend we have cleaned it out, lined it with weedy mesh and added compost and easibed! He thinks all the feathers will re grow, but thought the cream would be calming and moisturising. But with 6 girls a tube doesn't go far and at £17 a tube I am looking for an alternative.... I just thought nappy cream must be fairly sensitive...

Guest
OK I see, yes, sudocreme should be fine. My vet recommended it to me to use on our budgie when he had a sore vent so I don't see why you shouldn't use it on Chickens.
Guest
p.s. did you use GARDEN lime or BUILDERS lime? If the former then strange they should react to it as it's only a chalky substance with no nasties in it whearea the latter can burn and cause a bad skin reaction and is poisonous. quickcluck
Definately garden lime We are starting from scratch now, as I feel terrible with 6 bald girlies, plus I've 4 new girlies coming in the summer and really want it sorted well before they arrive....... We are also building a new walk in run, but in the same place.... the only other answer is to slab it, but we really dont want to do that..... Guest
strange well, good luck with the sudocreme, it should help ease any soreness. Just use it sparingly or they might end up with bedding stuck to them
Egluntyne
There is a tea tree and lavender cream available from petshops. It is very soothing and smells divine.

Seem to have read a few that have had reaction to garden lime lately. I use sodocrem on mine no problem unless one decides to eat it I have also found that incontinece sheets for beds cut up to fit sleeping nest is good as nothing gets stuck to their tums (bedding that is) I guess puppy training pads woulsd be same
