they should fit 2 normal eggs or 3-4 bantams eggs. I'm really excited and can't wait to get them. I made Delia's "Eggs en cocotte" a while ago

but it was so much faffing about, with the oven and the bain marie etc etc that despite being totally delish, I haven't bothered with since.

 

Then I discovered the coddler! (I think Kate might have mentioned them at the time actually ) but I actually googled them today after seeing them on TV and they look just the ticket!

 

Anyone got any coddlers and do you use them them much and have you got any hints/tips/recipes even for using them?

I haven't got any "yet" but lakeland do some really good silicone coddlers that I have heard other people on this forum rave about so I am sure they will be along soon to comment on them.

When my mum died and I cleared out her house I found a set of three egg coddlers, which were pretty old and hadn't been used for years. I couldn't imagine using them myself and gave them to the charity shop.....stupid me

well, they came the other day and Ive just had coddled bantam eggs, delish! The coddlers are large ones so can fit 2 large eggs so I decided to have 4 bantam eggs instead. Buttered the inside of the coddler, cracked in the eggs, salt and papper and another k"Ooops, word censored!" of butter and into a simmering pan. Had it with hot buttered toast

 

I think I found an eggcellent way to use up the bantam eggs
