Chooks Aloud
I have 3 GPs all brothers, two of which are kept together, but I have had to separate Harvey as they fight. In the evening they are brought inside (too cold at the moment outside & I like to cuddle them of an evening). During the day they are in the chicken run housed in their own individual runs. I'm standing at the sink and I notice bedding being flung everywhere and 2 GPs fighting/jumping up about a foot in the air. I rushed out only to find that Harvey had pushed his way through into the other 2s run and had started a fight. Blood everywhere, teeth chattering etc. Brought them all in and cleaned them up. The trouble was this must have upset everyone as the 2 who normally get on started fighting. Bodger is humping everything - he even went up to one of my chooks, who just gave him a distainful look and walked off. I took them all outside again, fixed the run problem, shut one in the cage and left one outside of the cage and the other one in the other run. All day they were trying to get to one another, trying to burrow underneath the run. Bodger was just like King Kong, he kept chucking all his food bowls about and picking up whole sheets of paper and chucking them. Later on in the day I opened the cage door and let Barney back in with Bodger. A quick scuffle ensued and then I looked in and everything had gone quiet. What I found was a jelly like mound, which Bodger had deposited (probably from the constant humping), and Barney then proceeded to eat it - lovely. After this, peace. When they were brought in that evening they did not make a sound, just all 3 laid flat out and peaceful - blooming guineas. Worn themselves out. At each others throat one minute and snuggling up the next!!!

Chickvic
Sounds like a bit of a nightmare! Glad they settled down though.
Scooby
have you had their 'bits' done? I had to get this done with my two males which calmed them down a bit. They still share a cage but they have to have two of everything, two igloos, two pellets bowls and two water bottles. Every so often we have a 'teetch chattering' episode but no big scuffles like before
Chooks Aloud
When I clean them out I just let them run around the chooks - none of them seem to mind. No I haven't had their bits done - I read somewhere that a Vet said it probably wouldn't make too much difference and it's not worth putting them through it. They are alright at the moment. Boys eh!!!!
