Croad Langshans

Recommended Posts

Help! I'm being led astray. My friend's brother has offered me three Langshan hens at point of lay, and I'm tempted by them. From what I can gather from the interwebnetserviceprovider, they are a rare breed and are black with a green sheen. They look to be very pretty birds and are docile by nature, but I'm not sure what to do. This would bring chicky numbers up to a round dozen, not sure this is wise!!

Does anybody have any experience of Langshans at all who can offer any advice?

Thanks!

Ooooh go for it!

"The hens lay 140-150 eggs a year and are good winter layers; the eggs are brown with a plum-coloured bloom. The hens are excellent sitters and mothers. Croad Langshans are easily tamed and adapt well to both confinement and free range."

I've fancied a couple of these for ages but never been able to find any!... don't suppose your friends' brother wants to lead me astray aswell does he? (oops, just realised that sounded a bit 'ooh er missus':lol: )
