Woodcat
hey About 8 months ago i had a fox attack i managed to save my chook but she lost alot of feathers both in the attack and with the shock of it. I did post at the time and was told that they would grow back eventually but 8 months or so down the line she still has a bald tummy and a bald patch on the top of her head. I've been looking at her stomach recently and it's been looking a bit red and sore i think this is because she sleeps siting down i've never managed to convince her that chickens can perch the last time i tried she fell off so.. i'm not really very sure what to do i've tried extra protien and all sorts of thing like that but nothing seems to work. She continues to lay her egg every day and there is no feather regrowth. So the question is is there anyway i can get her to regrow feathers? She is very stubborn about her eggs and has laid one every day from the day she came including the day after she was attacked by the fox is this why she isn't regrowing? I worry alot because she gets cold very easily and has taken to spending alot of time in the house. Any suggestions would be appreatiated. Egluntyne
Lifeguard Poultry tonic might give her the boost she needs. Have you given her a thorough health check and wormed her?
Woodcat
She has been wormed on a regular basis and other than getting cold and having a red stomach she is fine and she has Poultry spice on a regular basis. i havn't tried the life guard stuff
Egluntyne
Might be worth it. It is on the expensive side, but very good.
