Cazjohn
Hi Guys! Limpy one of my Ex-Batts has always had a deformed leg but her limp has been getting worse, on further investigation she has a small round flat wart-like growth on the underside of her foot right in the centre of the pad is this bumblefoot? Any help would be appreciated Caroline
chelsea
Bumblefoot looks quite "puffy" and swollen usually caused by bacteria getting into a cut. Some chooks do have more prominent pads on their feet than others. Do you have a picture? If you are at all worried, take her to the vet - as the treatment for Bumblefoot is usually antibiotics
ruth1
It could be the start of it, as Chelsea say's go to the vet as you will need antibiotics if it is. The best treatment I found (eventually) for bumblefoot was to pick the scab of bit at a time and use Dermisol cream which prevents the necrotic tissue growing back allowing the foot to heal- your vet would provide this cream. And its a long daily process.
Cazjohn
Thanks Guys, I'll try and get a picture on, it doesn't look particularly puffy just like a flat wart!
