YickerAL
Hi Came home from work today and the OH was telling me that one of our girls was making quite a strange noise rather than the usual "boc boc". She said it sounded very wheezy, almost like the squeeking a dogs squashy toy would make. I took a look at her, and couldn't see anything obvious, indeed, she was running round the garden chasing the collared doves that have been frequenting us. She is eating fine, drinking plenty, still laying and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her physically. It almost sounds like she has a sore throat. I did think that one of the other girls produced a noise that sounded like she was "sneezing". Is this normal? If anyone recognises the symptoms, we would appreciate the advice, we have only been doing this for a few months, and anything we don't recognise as normal has us worried sick! Thanks in advance for your advice fellow omleteers! Andy
Egluntyne
Hens do sneeze. Sounds as if they have caught a cold. Some Citricidal in their drinking water may help. Any serious wheezing, coughing, rattly chests or snotty noses, and I'd take them to the vet.
