fluffyknickers
Guess what! The two BOTH laid today!!! Ok so it wasnt perfect as was at random times this afternoon around 3pm and not in the nest but at the bottom of the run - but what clever girls! They laid first (in the run) and Nugget hadnt laid (she has laid every day since Sunday) so i thought she was having a day off - then my mum went out to the cube around 4pm to check it and there was another - so all three laid in the same day. I am beyond excited and happy! So now, for the first time, I have an Omlet box with four eggs in as havent eaten Nuggets WHOPPER from yesterday (looks so funny against the new tiny ones). I have photos of them so will put on here later tonight - and have taken photos of the girls ones against the big one. Is it unusual that the two laid for the first time on the same day and both copying each other and laying in the run (how do I stop that btw) or a normal occurence as they could be born the same time. So all in all a funny old day with chickens escaping, fox deterrents being switched off and now three eggs. Tonight having bacon, eggs and beans
Chickvic
Congratulations! They may have been caught unaware and laid in the run but if they continue to do so then golf balls or chins eggs int he nest should encourage them to lay in there. Enjoy your tea! Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations, MazzyC . I had almost the same as you, all of mine laid their first egg in the run but all others have been in the nestbox (or occasionally on the bars ). Also, 2 of mine laid their first egg within a day of each other.

The dont lay until around 11am and its like Picadilly Circus with them bobbing in and out of the Cube! Michelle
Sky
We still only have our original one laying at the moment between 8.30 and 9 every morning, can't imagine what it is going to be like when the other 4 get going too!! Hopefully they will all pick their times during the day - we have 2 nesting boxes between 5 hens
Phoebe
I let my hens out at 6.30 am in the week, and usually have 2 eggs by then. At the weekend, its 7.30, and there are 3. The 4th turns up by 11am. My hens are obviously morning people.....
