Dipper has laid her first egg today which I am so happy with - but she has taken to sleeping in the nest box and has broken Sam's egg today

 

How do I stop her doing this????

Some people say that placing an upturned pot in the nest over night can stop them sleeping in there. However, when I tried this I got up the next morning to find that somehow, one of them had managed to lay an egg in there, right on the edge of the nest anyway

Put something in the nest box (footballs are good apparently). It is important as if an egg is broken they soon work out that there is a delicious treat to be had and egg eating is a hard habit to break.
