Single hen

She isnt making a normal hen noise...she is opening her mouth and if any sound comes out, it isnt normal. She has been eating ok and laying...her comb is red and she seems ok. I am worried she may have gapeworm..is there a treatment for this?

Hi there, sorry to hear your chook is unwell.

 

Does it look like your chookie is gasping when she opens her mouth?

 

If so it is most probably gapeworm as you mentioned. If so a double dose of Flubenvet is the way to go.

Thankyou for your help! She isnt gasping, I have spotted her cough once...she is doing funny things with her throat though...i will commence twice daily doses of flubenvet tomorrow morning
