drcara
Thank Goodness for this forum, I have been reading so much advice which I have found invaluable. I acquired 3 new lovely girls on Staurday; Hopper, Lucille and Emily On Saturday evening poor Emily who is a white sussex was pecked terribly by the other 2 babcocks. The next morning terrible blood around her vent and a considerable number of feathers removed. I separated them for a couple of days and now they seem to be the best of friends. Tonight I found them huddle up together for the night. I was hoping someone could advise me about Emilies 'behind'. Ive cleaned her up, used antiseptic and all the bleedign has stopped. But she looks a terrible mess and was wondering how long it may take for any feather regrowth. Thanks muchly for reading. Egluntyne
Welcome to the forum. Poor Emily. So long as they leave her alone, the feathers should start reappearing in a couple of weeks.
Pink Ladies
We are still waiting a year on for Ruby's feathers to regrow but she doesn't seem to mind and knows that she looks god from the front. Think her behind was a little chilly in the frosty weather though. Don't worry they don't mind what they look like.
