HELP

I am chicken sitting for a friend and when we went to check today one of yjeir chooks was sitting hunched up with wings down. When I picked her up she make a squeaking sound and her eyes were closing. She slowly sank down when I put back on the ground. She was eating corn and pellets. We have put her in a box with some straw, water and food. Any ideas??????

She could be trying to lay a soft shelled egg - this does make them hunched and off colour. Make sure she has access to water and food and keep your fingers crossed overnight. She may have perked up in the morning.

Hi there

Friends came back from holiday yesterady. She's still about the same eating a little etc. No sign of any softies or any other eggs. How long should she be kept away from the others? Will they still recognise her after a few days? She is in a fenced off area next to where the others free range.

If she is no better I think she should see a vet. It clearly isn't a softee after all this time!
