freespiritbutterfly Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Autumn has been laying frequently since dec 08 no problems all hard shelled however this morning she has laid a soft egg that hasn't really got any shell? Am i wrong in thinking that soft eggs only happen when chickens are new to laying? She didn't seem herself last night. She was very quiet didn't move much and kept retreating to the eglu when Florence and Hebe were still out playing. Her crop was hard and i thought it might be that but this morning when i checked on her, her crop had gone down a bit since last night but she was still quiet, not moving very much and kept retreating to the eglu again.
