Totty
Hi Guys, I need some advice please. Two of my french hens seem to have started grooming quite severly just on top of their chest area(just under the neck) feathers are now missing from both and the area looks irritated. Could this be cuased by a grotty mite somehow? I use Red Mite powder in the Eglu but must admit I don't dust the girls with it. The giels regulary have Diatom, Poultry spice in their feed and have a good diet of layers mash, veg, Fruit, worms etc. Your thoughts please... Sarah Pics coming soon of their new home, an aviaries4u 8x6x6 run...
Gallina
Are you sure they are self-plucking? My hens take feathers from each others' throats -- too high up for them to have done it themselves.
