Help with introductions

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

Well our new girls have been with us for 16 days now, they are still in a seperate house, so 3 in the wooden house and 4 in the cube. They have all free ranged together every day and basically ignore each other, unless one of the new girls dares to adventure into the run and then the others chase over and shout at them. So the question is do I put them in together and let them get on with it? :? I know they will s"Ooops, word censored!" but want to reduce this as much as pos.

Help, Im a worried mummy :anxious:

I was in a similar situation a month or so ago. Two in cube, two in eglu, free ranging everyday together with no problems but going to their own beds each night.

So I started moving the newbies into the cube after they had gone to roost in the Eglu. Then i got up at 6am to let them all out to avoid any arguing once they woke up. I did this for three nights and on the fourth they had all taken themselves off to bed in the cube :D

I am very happy with the way that my intros went.....I think they lived seperately for four maybe five weeks prior to all going together.

You could try popping them in together at night and if it doesn`t work you can stop, take a step back and try again in the future.

I am working to a 5 week plan!!!

This week we are letting them out in the run together, but only for a short time and supervised with a water pistol! Plan to do this for a week or so and then try your putting them in together after they've been in bed for a while...

Good plan?

I think putting them together at night seems to be the way to go, the girls in the cube are really sneaky though and jump up and run into the run as soon as they hear me so wont stay in the cube when the others go in, little madams! I dont close the door at night so the new girls would have an escape route into the run. I just dont like the thought of mabel the big soft orp from getting picked on :boohoo:
