AJuff
From a completely bald bottom . . how long until fluffy knickers are back? I have separated our very bare bottomed maran until her feathers grow back!!! She is living in isolation in the eglu and run. She's not happy but needs must! Peaches
Well, I'm no chicken expert, but my ex-batt girls all arrived with bald bums and they are still growing back - so about a month plus, I would say.
quickcluck
Does she need to be separated????
AJuff
Well there are seven girls with fully fluffy knickers and I don't know which of them has a liking for feather plucking!! I have spent time watching them but the all behave very well when I'm there. Five are moulting so they are patchy and then there's Poppy no feathers and Pippa no tail feathers. Everytime a feather starts to regrow they would pluck it out and a few more alongside. She has gradually got worse and worse and looks terrible. Unless I put 7- 13 bumper bits on she'll need to be separated. You see she had no bottom feathers when she came to me so they've always pecked at her bottom. What else can i do? I've tried Ukadex and the violet spary to no avail.
