house-elf
Another question about flooring as I'm not sure of the best way... I can't decide whether to have a coop and attached run on grass or concrete with wood chipping - my reason is that I have a very small patch of grass and the kids like to play on it, OR do I have a seperate coop and run, and put the chooks in the run when I'm in or free range in the garden when I'm outside ???? Advice please !
katieadams
Ours is set aside from the lawn where the kids play, full of bark but soon to be rubber chippings. It is on what was once grass but I know some do have it on concrete successfully. We let them out almost every day when we're around, and just go around after them every so often to do a 'poo sweep' with a shovel so the kids aren't standing in it . There's a thread on small gardens somewhere with lots of pictures you could get inspiration from that
