Cinnamon
Before you go ahead with your plans to hatch chicken eggs PLEASE think very carefully about what you will do with the male chicks you will get. 50% of all eggs hatched could be boys, & they are not always easy to rehome. For obvious reasons cockerels are not as sought after as hens & finding homes for them could become an issue for you. You may find that rehoming them is difficult & they may find their crow at a young age. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE FOR THE MALE CHICKS BEFORE YOU EMBARK ON HATCHING EGGS There are several options. You may be able to rehome them to a local farm who will raise them as meat birds,or you may want to do this yourself. You could also look into local petting zoos who may be able to take one or two for their pets corner. NO REHOMING REQUESTS FOR ANY CHICKS MAY BE MADE ON THE OMLET FORUM. However other forums (River Cottage etc) have the facilities to advertise cockerels & hens for rehoming.
