You can be 'safety concious' all you like but they'll still find a way to hurt themselves - my eldest (nearly 4) has a cracking red graze covering her chin at the moment from tripping over in a very safety aware wooden play park Looks great , but I was expecting something - my mother in law is coming this weekend

Crazy days. My son's school won't allow bikes or scooters on the premises because they are deemed dangerous. No wonder kids are growing up into useless adults unable to do things for themselves.

 

When I was at primary school we were allowed onto our playing field at lunch times. One side of it was a big chalk bank. We used to have a whale of a time grinding up the chalk with flint stones and creating 'potions' and mixing in leaves. We also used to climb the trees!! Unheard of these days. It's such a shame because the role playing games we got out being able to play in that way is priceless!
