JB09
Hi all, My Dolly half heartedly went broody at the weekend, spent a lot of time on the nest box, displayed all the symptoms etc. Although after putting a football in the nestbox this subsided and she has been going from strength to strength. However we have not had a egg from her since, and I am worried that there might be someting wrong. She is fine in herself, eating, drinking very perky with a bright red comb. I wonder whether this could all be related or whether there may be something else to it. I have had them since March and both my chicks came from Omlet. Do you think I may need to worm them? Thanks for all your advice, I don't know what I would do without this forum!! JB
moochoo
Unfortunately broody hens do stop laying. They don't need to lay if they're incubating chicks. She will come back into lay eventually. I've had my broody take a break from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Nothng at all to worry about as long as she's well in herself.
