Has anybody ever barbecued a whole chicken?

I have a boned ... heavens was that a job and a half ... bird stuffed with my own home made and home grown stuffing and want to barbecue it at the weekend.

Has any body done this?

I plan to bank up the charcoal and woodchips to one side on the barbie and cook the chicken the other with the lid closed but I don't know how long to give it.

I don't want to poison the family.

Has any body any tips?

Personally, I am not happy BBQing raw chicken.

 

It never seems to cook ptoperly

 

I would microwave first and finish off on the BBQ.

I stuffed it with a duck sausage meat and bacon stuffing , put plenty of woodchips on the barbie, closed the lid for an hour and it was wonderful.
