What do i do? My girls have started eaing their own eggs. I wondered why produciton was down and we now relaise thay are eating some of the eggs. We put one down to get the extra food out of the shed, and turned around to fing the girls pecking away (and enjoying) the egg.

You need to collect them as often as you can, and maybe put a ceramic egg in the nestbox, so that they hurt their beaks when pecking at the eggs,

or blow the contents of a couple of eggs and fill it with mustard or curry powder. Not chilli....hens seem to be unable to taste it.

 

Darkening the nest box so that they cant see the eggs is another tip I have read recently.
