marcnvikki Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 Have a 23-week-old hen, Buddy, who has been fit and well up until now. She's not really laid any eggs, except for about three weeks ago when she went through a stage of laying tiny soft ones for a few days. Anyway, today she has been lethargic, just sitting about - sometimes with her head tucked beneath her wings. She also has runny light brown poo (diarrhea?). When I bring out food she rushes to eat just like her pals, but as soon as the goodies have gone, she goes back into her sulk. I'm ever so worried - any ideas? Scrambled egg Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 I am not entirely sure, but she might be egg bound. (soft shelled egg that can't be pushed out) My chicken Penny (R.I.P) was egg bound about 3 times. she just sat around and did nothing, and she laid some soft shelled eggs.
