kitschwitch
Poor Charlotte, She has recovered from the Mycoplasma and seemed fine till today! DH mentioned this afternoon that she seemed to have some "spikes" growing from her toes after she jumped on the table looking for treats. When I went to look about 30 mins after there was a bit of her foot that was bleeding with something sticking out, seemed to be burrowing in We removed this and a few others that we could see, one other of which also bled and sprayed her feet with purple gentian, bleeding has stopped and there is no unwelcome attention from the other girls. Is this scaly leg mite? Or something else? Have we done the right thing and should we do anything else, she seems happy enough, eating, drinking etc and let us do it all without fuss. Currently dustbathing alternating with treat demanding! We have checked the other 3 and see nothing similar Thanks in advance Di
Egluntyne
Any photos? This is Scaley Leg mite. You can try treating it with Johnsons' Scaley lotion, Xeno 200 or Benzyl Benzoate, *none of which are licensed for use on poultry in UK, so there is an egg with drawal period. kitschwitch
We didn't take any photos but it did not look like any of those pictures It really looked like a "skinny" not round, tick like thing about 4-5mm long. We removed about 4 of them mainly from the ankle area She has been checked this morning and seems fine apart from the purple feet, will keep a close eye on her and take photos if any more appear. ?????
