wilkole
Since putting bumper bits on our 6 girls 10 days ago we have had 8 eggs, 2 chooks are a bit too young to lay yet but prior to fitting the bumper bits we were getting 4 eggs a day. No lice, no worms. Eating and drinking as normal, if not a bit more due to the heat. Any ideas please as going to have to start buying eggs again soon. They are only 10 months so not too old to lay. Egluntyne
Have they taken to laying their eggs under a shrub in the garden?

purplefowler
I had the same thing. Elvis turned into a right feather plucker so I put a beak bumper on her and she stopped laying, which meant I only had one layer (my other 2 were point of lay and weren't producung yet). It is gutting as you really get used to the eggs and the thought of buying them is horrible. I left the bumper on her for 3 weeks and she really calmed down and had dropped down in the pecking order so I took it off and after about 5 days she started popping eggs out again. All is now well, but it really did unsettle her. She also has stopped eating KO's feathers so it was a success, but no eggs was a killer
